Day 3

Day 3: Picture of me & my friends.

Laura- She's such a sweetheart. I met her in the 8th grade at a school dance she was invited to by, Kelsie Stephan. She was not from the same school as me, because she attended Mountain View School for Junior High. Her and I became friends in High School. Our friendship grew stronger every year. Some of her traits that I love are: She loves to workout and be healthy, no matter what. She loves sports and is good at them. She enjoys trying new things. She does not let people pressure her into doing things. She also seems to make others feel good about themselves. I remember in the 12th grade she would text me every morning. I even started using her text as an alarm, knowing I would get a "Good Morning Lexie" everyday. I loved it! :) To this day she still texts and calls to check up on me. We don't get to see each other as much as we'd like, but she is still one of my best friends.

Cortney- What a nerd! haha kidding. I have been best friends with Cortney since the 2nd grade, so I don't even know where to start, there's just too much. Well, first off I can say that we have been through A LOT together...14 years is a long time. Cortney and I somehow seemed to find something to get in trouble for all the time. Like when I went camping with her and her family one summer. Her brother was driving us crazy. So Cortney caught a grasshopper. We chased him down. I held his arms, while Cortney tried shoving it in his mouth! It was hilarious!! We have always preferred to hang with the boys and go 4x4ing. Cortney is great at sports, especially track and basketball. She loves to run wild and have fun. She has a great sense of humor. She does excellent academically. Her and I have definitely had our share of spats towards each other...but in the end we figure it out.

Hannah- The 12th grade was the when I actually got to know Hannah. She started dating Josh. Cortney with Alex, and I just hung out with the rest of the guys (eventually started dating Brandon). So we all ended up going to the same parties. Hanging out together, going 4x4ing and cruising. Once, all us girls rode together in Hannah's vehicle to a football game held in Claresholem, not knowing that we would not be riding back in that vehicle, because somehow Hannah lost the keys. lol She had nearly the whole group of guys out on the field with their cell phone lights, trying to find the keys in the grass. Needless the say, they were never found. Hannah is the most happy, cheerful person I have ever met. I could count on one hand, how many times I have seen her unhappy. She takes her life to the fullest. She kind and loving to everyone around her. She works hard and achieves a lot. She does let others change her or her beliefs. She's a wonderful person.

I love all my friends! I wish I had time to write about them all, but I would eventually have to hit the sac. And that's exactly what I'm going to do. :)

Day 2

Day 2: Meaning behind my blog name.

Well, there's not much in my blog name, seems it is only my last name. Fortner became my last name on September 6,2008 when I married my amazing husband. It's not a very common name, and kinda a little weird. Too be honest, I was never too sure about that name. Like I said in my previous post, I have been friends with Brandon since Jr. High. I would always tease him (in a friend kinda way) about his last name. One name being, "Fart-ner." Haha! I used to think it was so funny calling him that, never thinking that one day I would have that name. I guess it's true...what goes around comes around.

challenge!

K, so I decided it's about time to blog more often. What better way to do that than a 30 day challenge, right?! I've seen this done on a few blogs, and thought it to be quite cute, so here it goes!

Day 1: Recent photo of me & 15 interesting facts about myself:

ET- Easter Time is Here!!

Time flys when your having fun! It's already Easter time! This year we haven't done many Easter activities. Jax is still little, and can't really dye eggs or roll them. We decided to save all that fun stuff for next year when he will actually be able to do it himself. Jax did get to participate in a hunt at Brandon's family Easter party, giggling the whole time. He is just too cute!

Well, Brandon has healed wonderfully, with a little ways to go. He still walks with a bit of a limp, but I think it will eventually go away. He's still not working, but should be back soon enough. While not working, Jax and I have got to spend a lot of time with him...and we love it! Of course Brandon really wants to go back to work, so I'm enjoying all the time I have with him and Jax.

Spr!ng T!me Beg!ns...

What to blog about? Hmmm... I told myself that I would blog at least once every two weeks, and I've realized it is harder than I thought it would be. I do not have enough going on in my life to always find things to blog about. But I will do my best, so here it goes.

Well this past week we had the pleasure of having Preston (Brandon's step-brother) stay at our house. Brandon really enjoys his visits, especially during this time while Brandon is not allowed to work. So for Brandon to be able to have fun while being limited from many things, makes me feel more at ease knowing he is happy. He did start physio about a week or so ago, also currently walking with only one crutch and putting weight on. The recovery process is slowing moving.

April 6th was Patrick's (Brandon's step-dad) birthday. We all drove into Lethbridge for a quick bit to eat, movie, and dessert. Patrick chose to eat at 5 Guys-Burger's & Fries...which was actually quite tasty. Try it out sometime! After grabbing some food we hit up the movie, "HOP." Such a cute show! and funny too! By the time the movie ended we were all in need of some birthday dessert at Mr.Mike's. Patrick's birthday turned out to be quite a fun-filled night.

Jaxton James is now rolling over! Scary thing is...he's almost got crawling down pat as well. Move, move, move is what he loves to do. We've also started giving him rice cereal. The first time trying it out, he took it like he'd been eating for a while now. Jax would even giggle every time he took a spoonful. Cutest thing ever!

Dressed him up all goofy for his first eating of rice cereal

He loves to stand on his own

Yesterday Brandon, Jax, and I were just about to load up the truck to go to church. Brandon went out first to open to door for me and such. While I was coming out of the house with Jax, Brandon says, "Oh, no." Of course my natural response is to panic a bit. Turns out there was a MOUSE in our truck. What was this mouse doing?... Sleeping. In the sunlight. Soaking it all in. All I could think was, " OH MY WORD!! EWWWW! Don't cry Lexie. Don't cry." Brandon wanted me to help him scare it out. Umm...yeah, that definitely was not going to happen. I am TERRIFIED of mice. Go ahead, mock me. I do not care. I will admit that tears formed in my eyes when he asked me to open the other door so the mouse would hopefully just run itself out. Anyways, we -as in Brandon- tried multiple times to get that darn thing out, but every time the little rodent heard a noise it would run somewhere and hide. So by the time we went to church, came back, went to dinner at my parents, came back again...the NASTY thing...got suckered into a mouse trap! How that mouse got in there?...I do not know. And I do not know if I will ever be able to ride in there again...or at least for a while.

Our little surprise!
